Sarah Lerner, LMSW, M.S.Ed., is a licensed social worker with a background in clinical social work and special education. With experience as both a special education teacher and school social worker, Sarah brings a unique perspective to her work with children, parents, and families. She is passionate about supporting families as they navigate parenting challenges, anxiety, emotional regulation, and behavioral and developmental needs.

A central focus of Sarah's work is parent-focused therapy and guidance. She understands that parenting can be both rewarding and challenging, and believes parents deserve a space where they feel heard, understood, and supported. Sarah works collaboratively with parents to better understand their children's emotions and behaviors, strengthen communication, establish healthy boundaries, and develop practical strategies that foster confidence and connection within the family.

Sarah has extensive experience working with children with autism, ADHD, anxiety, language-based learning challenges, and a range of developmental and social-emotional needs. Drawing on her background in special education and school-based mental health, she provides parents with guidance and tools to better understand their child's unique strengths and challenges while navigating situations that arise at home, at school, and in everyday life.

Sarah's therapeutic approach is warm, compassionate, and strengths-based. She believes in meeting each family where they are and creating a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where both parents and children feel comfortable expressing themselves. Sarah values togetherness and believes that meaningful growth happens through collaboration, connection, and a strong sense of support. Her goal is to help families build stronger relationships, develop confidence, and navigate challenges together.

Sarah earned her Master of Social Work from New York University and her Master of Science in Education in Childhood and Special Education from Bank Street College of Education.
